The History of KTM
Founded in 1964 KTM started to produce eBikes in 2008 and released their first eGnition eBike in 2011. Still based in Austria, KTM have now sold over well over 4 million bikes and many of their eBikes such as the eShopper and Macina 8 have won prestigious awards for their cutting edge design.
KTM Electric Bikes
KTM are renowned internationally for their bikes and motorbikes but in recent years have applied their knowledge to electric bikes. Using only top of the range eBike systems from Bosch, Shimano and Panasonic, KTM electric bikes are expertly crafted to an exceptionally high standard in the same factory as their motorbikes. Although KTM are best known for their electric mountain bikes, they also produce an excellent range of urban and trekking electric bikes and even some cargo e-Bikes.
The 2017 KTM eBike Range
KTM's 2017 eBike range is split into three different groups the KTM Macina range, the KTM Ventura range and the KTM Amparo range. The Macina range uses the Bosch eBike system, widely regarded as the best eBike system currently available. The Ventura range uses Shimano's eBike system and the Amparo uses the Panasonic eBike system. In our opinion the KTM's Macina range is better than the other two as it uses the proven Bosch system that was designed with European regulations in mind while the Panasonic and Shimano systems were conceived to conform to Japanese eBike regulations. The 2016 Macina range features the latest Bosch motors including the Bosch Performance Line CX and the new Powerpack 500 on some of their bikes.
If you are looking for an exceptionally well made eBike with the latest cutting edge eBike tech, the KTM electric bike range has a lot to offer.
