EU law states that for road use, electric bicycles must stop assisting at 15.5 MPH then you can push faster with your legs if you want. For off-road or private land use, you can derestrict your eBike allowing speeds of 28MPH (some even faster).
-
How far can I go?
Anywhere between 15 and 180 miles. There are many varients that determine range - battery capacity, terrain, speed, rider weight and many more. Crank drive bikes from Bosch, Yamaha and Shimano often have larger ranges, and some Bosch eBikes have the option for Dual Battery technology with a 1000Wh capacity to power you up to 180 miles off one charge.

FAQs
-
Can I try before buying?
Absolutely, we encourage test rides as much as possible, they are the best way to understand how fantastic these machines are. You can visit our showroom on Bermondsey Street and choose from over 50 demo eBikes we have in store, and we can talk you through what bike best fits your needs.Overnight Test-Rides are also available for those wanting to test out their commute, or test out one particular hill.
-
Why is your range mainly £2000 and above?
A flick through your chosen internet search engine and you’ll probably find eBikes for in and around £700. Baring in mind a good battery costs £350, are you sure the bike is good for quality? Buying cheap may not always be the most cost effective in the long run. European built bikes with Bosch, Yamaha and Shimano motors often have much longer shelf lives. Also the humongous amounts of research and development these companies have put in to their systems is not only a jump up in price, but a jump in quality. Of course, there are a few acceptions from the hub motored eBikes.
