First Look: The New Riese & Müller Veya - Their Lightest and Sportiest eBike Yet
In this Guide
For years, Riese & Müller has been known for building some of the most comfortable, capable and premium electric bikes on the market. Whether it’s a Charger, Nevo or Delite, the focus has always been on stability, refinement and all-day comfort.
The all-new Veya changes things.
It’s the lightest and sportiest Bosch powered bike Riese & Müller has ever produced, coming in at under 20kg in its lightest specification. More importantly, it introduces an entirely new platform that can be configured around different riders, different Bosch drive systems and different riding styles.
A New Direction
The Veya has been designed for riders who want something lighter, faster and more agile than a traditional trekking eBike, without sacrificing the premium engineering Riese & Müller is known for.

Riese & Müller has recognised that more riders are now looking for lightweight urban eBikes that are still capable enough for longer rides, commuting and weekend adventures.
One Bike, Multiple Personalities
Perhaps the cleverest part of the Veya is how configurable it is.
Depending on your priorities, you’ll be able to choose between different Bosch drive systems, including the lightweight Bosch Performance Line SX, the Bosch Performance Line PX, and the powerful Bosch Performance Line CX Gen 5 with up to 120Nm of torque.

Battery capacities, drivetrains and suspension options can all be tailored too, meaning the same frame can suit everything from fast urban commuters through to riders wanting maximum power and comfort.
Impressively Lightweight
Getting a Bosch-powered Riese & Müller bike below 20kg is no easy task.
The Veya uses thinner hydroformed and extruded aluminium sections to remove unnecessary weight while maintaining the stiffness the brand is known for.
Even small details have been carefully considered. The integrated carry handle is not just useful for lifting the bike up stairs - it also increases frame rigidity and forms part of the bike’s overall design.
Comfort Hasn’t Been Forgotten
Despite its sporty intentions, comfort still plays a huge role.
Higher-spec models feature an adjustable suspension seatpost and suspension fork, while riders wanting the lightest possible build can opt for a rigid fork and fixed cockpit.
The geometry feels noticeably more athletic than previous Riese & Müller models, but still reassuringly stable - exactly what many commuters and everyday riders are looking for.
Built Around Bosch
One of the standout models pairs the Bosch CX Gen 5 motor with the latest Enviolo heavy-duty hub and Gates belt drive.
That’s an impressive combination on a bike weighing around the 20kg mark, delivering huge torque with almost maintenance-free ownership.
Those prioritising weight above all else can instead choose the Bosch SX motor, creating an even lighter and more natural-feeling ride.
Designed for Everyday Riding
Although it’s clearly aimed at commuters, the Veya isn’t limited to city streets.
With generous tyre clearance, MIK-compatible rear rack options and geometry that feels equally happy on gravel paths as it does on tarmac, it’s designed to be the sort of bike you ride every day - whether that’s heading into work or escaping for a weekend ride.
Available in Three Colours
The Veya will be available in three colours: Dusty Purple, Slate and Magnesium.
Dusty Purple is likely to be the standout, offering a subtle metallic finish that feels unlike anything currently in the Riese & Müller range.
Coming in 2027
The Veya is expected to arrive in early 2027, with customer bikes likely to follow shortly afterwards.
While the prototype shown still has a few finishing details to be refined before launch, it’s already clear that this is one of the most significant new bikes Riese & Müller has produced in years.
If you’ve been waiting for a premium lightweight eBike that combines Bosch reliability with Riese & Müller’s renowned ride quality, the Veya looks set to be well worth the wait.
