Cycle to Work schemes allow you to pay for your eBike through a salary sacrifice arrangement – spreading the cost over time while saving on tax and National Insurance.
We guide customers through this every day, so whether you’re ready to go or just getting started, it’s a straightforward process.

Schemes We Work With
We work with all major Cycle to Work providers, so whatever scheme your employer uses, we can support you through the process. For customers choosing a scheme, we often recommend providers such as Gogeta, Green Commute Initiative (GCI) and Cyclescheme, all of which can be used on new eBike purchases without additional retailer commission fees being passed on by Fully Charged.

Cycle to Work FAQs
-
How do Cycle to Work schemes work?
Cycle to Work schemes let you get an eBike through your employer using salary sacrifice. Repayments come out of your gross salary before tax and National Insurance, which means you can make a meaningful saving overall. In most cases, repayments are spread over 12 months.
-
How much can I save?
Most customers save between 32% and 47%, depending on their tax bracket and scheme. You’ll also make savings on National Insurance.
-
What happens if I leave my job before the end of the agreement?
If you leave your job before the agreement ends, the outstanding balance will usually be taken from your final net salary. If that does not cover the full amount, you’ll need to pay the remainder directly, and that portion would not benefit from the usual tax savings.
-
Am I eligible for a cycle scheme?
If you’re employed and your employer offers a Cycle to Work scheme, then usually yes. If they do not have one in place yet, we may be able to help them get set up quickly — just get in touch.
-
Can I use Cycle to Work for accessories only?
This depends on the scheme provider and your employer. In many cases, accessories can be included alongside an eBike, but not always on their own. If you’re unsure, speak to the team and we’ll point you in the right direction.
-
Can I use Cycle to Work on a discounted eBike?
Usually yes, although this depends on the provider. Some schemes charge fees on discounted bikes, which is why we may apply an admin fee in these cases. We’ll always make this clear before you go ahead.
-
Can I check out with Cycle to Work?
Yes. At checkout, simply select Cycle to Work and complete the short form. Whether you already have a voucher or are still applying, our team can help guide you through the process.
-
Do I need to pay a deposit for the bike?
Sometimes, yes. We may ask for a deposit to reserve your bike, particularly for in-stock or special-order models. Once your voucher is processed, that deposit is deducted from the final amount. If a special order has already been placed and the order is later cancelled, we may retain the deposit to cover costs.
-
Is there a limit to how much I can spend?
Most providers now do not have an upper spending limit, which means you can usually get the exact bike and accessories you need. Some employers may still apply their own internal limit, so it’s always worth checking with them directly.
-
Do I own the bike at the end of the hire agreement?
Not straight away. At the end of the salary sacrifice period, the scheme provider will usually offer a separate ownership transfer arrangement. With Green Commute Initiative, for example, this is often just £1. This helps keep the scheme compliant and avoids unnecessary tax liability.
-
Do I have to pay admin fees on Cycle Schemes?
For bikes sold at full RRP, there are no admin fees when using Cyclescheme.co.uk, Green Commute Initiative (GCI), or GoGeta.
For other providers—such as Evans, Halfords, VIVUP, and others—a fee between 5% and 8% will typically apply.
For discounted bikes, we apply a flat 10% admin fee across all schemes.
If a scheme’s fee would exceed the bike’s original RRP, we’ll cap the charge to keep it fair.
We’ll always confirm any admin fees before finalising your order.
-
How long does the process usually take?
That depends on your employer and scheme provider. Some approvals come through straight away, while others can take a week or two. If needed, we can reserve your bike while everything is being processed.
-
Which Cycle Schemes are best?
If you're able to choose a scheme, we often recommend providers such as Gogeta, Green Commute Initiative (GCI) and Cyclescheme. These schemes can be used on new eBike purchases at Fully Charged without additional retailer commission fees, helping to keep pricing transparent and ensuring you receive the best possible value.
Whichever scheme you choose, our team can guide you through the process, provide quotations, and help you secure your bike while your application is being approved.

Spend Tax-Free All Year with Gogeta Flexi-Voucher
The Gogeta Flexi-Voucher offers a more flexible approach to Cycle to Work. Rather than spending your entire voucher in a single transaction, you can apply for a set amount and use it throughout the year as and when you need it.
That means you could purchase your eBike today, then come back later for a helmet, lock, panniers, clothing or lights - all through the same voucher while still benefiting from the tax and National Insurance savings available through the scheme.
You'll also receive access to an online portal where you can track your remaining balance and manage your voucher throughout the year.
