At Fully Charged, we partner with a wide range of Cycle to Work providers to help you save on your new eBike and accessories.
Cycle schemes let you pay for your bike through a salary sacrifice arrangement—meaning you spread the cost over time and make the payments from your gross salary, saving up to 47% on tax and national insurance.

Cycle to Work FAQ's
-
How do cycle schemes work?
Cycle to Work schemes allow you to obtain an eBike through your employer via salary sacrifice. This means repayments come out of your gross salary—before tax and National Insurance—allowing savings of 32–47% depending on your tax bracket. Repayments are usually spread over 12 months.
-
How much can I save?
You can save anything between 32% and 47%, and there is additional savings on national insurance too!
-
What happens if I leave my job before the end of the agreement?
If you leave your job before the agreement ends, you’ll need to repay the outstanding balance from your final net salary. If your final pay doesn’t cover the balance, you’ll need to pay the remainder directly, and that portion won’t benefit from tax savings.
-
Am I eligible for a cycle scheme?
If you’re employed and your employer offers a Cycle to Work scheme, then yes. If they don’t have one yet, we can help them get set up quickly—just get in touch.
-
Can I use Cycle to Work for accessories only?
-
Can I use Cycle to Work on a discounted eBike?
-
Can I checkout with Cycle to Work?
Yes. At checkout, simply choose ‘Cycle to Work’ and fill in the short form. Whether you’re applying for a voucher or already have one, our team is here to support you every step of the way.
-
Do I need to pay a deposit for the bike?
You may be asked to place a deposit to reserve the bike. Once your voucher is processed, this will be deducted from the final amount. If you cancel after a special order has been placed, we may retain the deposit to cover costs.
-
Is there a limit to how much I can spend?
Most providers now offer no upper limit, meaning you can get the exact bike and accessories you need. Employers may still set internal limits, so it's best to check with them!
-
Do I own the bike at the end of the hire agreement?
Yes—but not immediately. After the salary sacrifice period ends, your scheme provider will usually offer a separate agreement to transfer ownership. With GCI, this is typically just £1. This process ensures there’s no tax liability.
-
Do I have to pay admin fees on Cycle Schemes?
For full RRP bikes, we offer 0% admin fees with Green Commute Initiative (GCI), Cyclescheme.co.uk, and GoGeta. Other providers may incur a 5–8% fee.
For discounted bikes, admin fees are higher across all schemes—typically between 5% and 15%, depending on the provider.
If your scheme’s commission ever exceeds the original RRP of the bike, we’ll cap the admin fee accordingly.
-
How long does the process usually take?
This can vary depending on your employer and scheme provider. Some approvals are instant; others can take 1–2 weeks. We’ll keep your bike reserved during this time (with a deposit if required).

All scheme providers charge Fully Charged a subsidy for acting as middle-man in the transaction. with some schemes, we have to charge an administrative fee:
Green Commute = 0% charge, Cycle Scheme = 0% charge Bike 2 Work = 5% charge Ride 2 Work = 6% charge, Cycle 2 Work (Halfords) = 15% charge. It’s important to point out that Fully Charged only aims to cover its costs - but you still make big savings!
